INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Lawrence Township Trustee Steve Talley today announced that former Indiana State Senator and Marion County Auditor Billie Breaux would be joining the Trustee staff as Deputy Director of Community Relations.

In her role Billie will expand the Trustee’s outreach to residents, community groups and apartment communities to foster partnerships and provide more information about what the office’s capabilities are for assisting Township residents.

“Billie Breaux is a true public servant,” said Trustee Talley. “Her long history as a leader in our community and her deep knowledge of the Township makes her an incredible addition to the team. I can’t think of a better individual to expand our outreach to the community and really let residents of Lawrence Township know what resources our office has to offer.”

 

Breaux served 16 years in the Indiana State Senate before she was elected as Marion County Auditor in 2006 where she served until 2015. A former educator, she is a former president of the Indianapolis Education Association and former vice president of the Indiana State Teachers Association. She received her Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State College and her Master’s degree from Indiana University.
