INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Lawrence Township Trustee Steve Talley today announced the hiring of the office’s first Director of Community Relations.

Dawn Anderson, a native of Indianapolis, has been a member of the Lawrence Township Trustee staff since September 2012. Before starting her new role, Anderson was a senior case manager where she assisted Township residents with their emergency needs. For the past two years, Anderson has worked closely with the Township’s vendors, MSD of Lawrence Township, IPS, and parents to organize and execute the Township’s back-to-school clothes program.

In her new role Anderson will oversee the daily operations of the Township Assistance staff as well as initiate outreach to apartment communities and community groups about working with the Trustee’s Office.

“Dawn has been a key member of our team since the moment she joined the Trustee’s Office,” said Trustee Talley. “She has shown time and again her dedication to our office’s mission and the residents of Lawrence Township.  I’m excited for her to take on this new role to help ensure that our office continues serving the community at the highest level.”

Anderson is a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia where she was very active on campus, participating in the Indiana Pre Alumni chapter, Project Sunshine, and the Student Recruitment Team. While living in Virginia Dawn worked in the communications industry and higher education as an admission officer and financial aid advisor. She serves as the president of the Indianapolis chapter of the Hampton University alumni and in 2011 she obtained her master’s degree in Adult Education and Training from the University of Phoenix.

In her free time Dawn enjoys time with her fiancé, Mark, their children Kameron, Bryce, Mark Jr. and Monet, along with her extended family and friends.
