Trustee Talley, a member of the Steering Committee of the Greater Lawrence Healthy Families Healthy Children Initiative: Healthy Neighborhoods – Built Environment/Infrastructure, attends a program update at CAFE.  Jump IN For Healthy Kids seeks to implement a comprehensive 2 year plan for facilitating access to new or existing infrastructure and/or facilities that create safe and accessible options for all children in Greater Lawrence to play and be physically active at least sixty (60) minutes each day. Strategies will include improved walkways, bikeways and trails; safe and accessible playgrounds; shared use agreements with schools and community organizations (including places of worship) to permit public use of their facilities; increased programming at the facilities of Greater Lawrence youth organizations such as the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, and Boy Scouts; increased Safe Routes to School projects; and additional programming with Fort Harrison State Park and Indy Parks facilities.
